The Macintosh community is abuzz about Omar Wasow, the hot young talent featured in Apple’s Panther video. Akin to, but still considered less potent than Schillermania, Omar Fever manifests itself as a desire to know, possess and love all things Omar.
“Omigod!” squealed Jessica Daniels, a 19-year-old charter member of Omar!, The Fan Club. “Omar is just, so, like… omigod!”
Omar Fever is also marked by an inability to articulate simple concepts.
Such as Omar Fever itself.
Of course, while Omar has caused numerous young women to swoon, the men all want to know about Omar’s own lovely ladies, Sarah and Traci.
“You can tell by just looking at Omar that these are going to be some fine lookin’ babes,” said Mac user and Omar follower Peter Macleod.
“I hope Omar follows this video up with a music video that has Sarah and Traci all dancing and grinding and gyrating their butts in front of the camera!
“Well… I do.”
Omar’s iChat buddies, including Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing Phil Schiller, are mum on details about Omar, but their praise speaks volumes.
“I felt bad even appearing in that video,” Schiller noted. “Right now people can’t get enough of Omar and I didn’t want to turn this into a thing where they’d have to decide between the two of us. I’m not about that.”
Schiller added, “You go, Omar. This is your time.”
Ever the crafty self-promoter, Omar is coy about his next project, but sources close to the sassy spokesman indicate his name is linked to a FileMaker 7 video that tears the lid off the venerable database.
