LONG LIVE THE MEGA-POST!
You should be able to view it again, but Masako had to shut off the comments at…
3821.
She had to delete one spam comment to get it viewable again (link).
Please, let’s hear a big round of applause for all of you who posted in the Mega-Post and kept it alive for a year and four months. Please use this comment thread to post your fondest memories of the post with the most…
the Mega-Post.
Yes, I well knew that Brits spell it “offence,” but the American revolution was partly founded on the principle of freedom of spelling and grammar, and so us ‘mercuns gunta alles puleez our selfses, make no misteak.
Ace, you lost me at ‘times past’.
I live in the now.
Man.
…
Boy the now is *pre-tty* dull, I can tell you.
Anything going to happen?
Anything?
Helloooo….?
Oooh, new post back on the normal site, by the way.
Looks like John getting binned in the Blog-Off or whatever it was has worked out for us.
See you there in a mo.
Should the The Mega-Post is Dead have a warning “Abandon hope all ye who enter here”?
Yes.
And it should be reposted frequently, just to up the count.
Where the Hel is Del?
It’s back!!!!!!!! It’s back!!!!! It was brokered for so long I stopped checking.
Oh ye of little faith, we missed you. Or we missed ye. Either way.
Now who else are we missing?
Sue, possibly?
Anonymous, intermittently?
And Pie.
Pie is always welcome.
What about My Pants. Huh? aint important but My Pants is a crucial member.
But they haven’t posted on Mega for a while.
In fact, I’m suspicious that Ace may have done them in and taken over their posts elsewhere also.
Indeed, I fear he may have done the same to me some time ago.
And there’s Psyko and some rabbit-related character.
This is what I was working on while the Mega was on Hiatus:
http://epicwinftw.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/awesome-photos-behold-the-tirino.jpg
Whoa, these new strhinos can really sneak up on a person, the way they blend in.
Do they come in other colours?
There’s a white tiger one, but it costs extra.
I’m only posting because even I cannot bring myself to see in the New Year with a five-pack of Mars Bars and ‘Troy’ on the telly.
Help. Me.
BroŲ,
Mars is supposed to help you work, rest and play.
So break into your workplace and wish the fuzz a “Happy New Year.”
Number alert: the Giga-Post has just exceeded the Mega-Post by more than a thousand.
And the next interesting number coming up is 4840, the number of square yards in an acre. Less than twenty comments to go!
Ace, I thought *I* needed to get out more.
Tsch. Counting how many past the Mega.
Pffft.
You sound like the kind of loser that would post on a long-dead message board for a semi-forgotten site on New Year’s Day, for heaven’s sake.
Not me. Never will you find me doing that. I’m sure I’m out with friends somewhere having a grand old time.
Actually, I think I just saw you getting in the drinks for Johansson and Bellucci down at our local, Ace.
Where I am too, clearly.
Sent from my iPhone.
Honest.
4840. Typical, backward looking tosh. An acre was the amount of land that could be ploughed by a man, a horse and a single plough in a day, so we now use hectares.
However please don’t ask me how many square metres there are in a hectare.
How many square metres there are in a hectare? If you don’t mind me asking, that is …
Right! Outside now, if you’re man enough?
Yes, I’m outside, and you’re nowhere to be seen! This isn’t going to work if we’re thousands of cubits apart.
Now what’s a cubit again?
I may need a hand with the calculations…
BroŲ,
Three groats equals a bob or two tanners, otherwise known as sprazies.
Does that help?.
Before now, I never thought I’d need a translator to accompany me on a visit to England.
After that “cockney” in Mary Poppins, we’ve got to get our own back somehow.
Enjoying your bank holiday, guvnor?
Lordy but are we, an’ no mistake.
Took the kiddies t’Monkey Biz.
Damn near killed me.
Monkey Biz or the kiddies?
Where’s that damned Nanny Jo when you need her?
“Brother Mugga says:

Now what’s a cubit again?I may need a hand with the calculations…”
Brother Mugga a hand is 4″ does that help?
I know what a Q*bert is, but not a cubit.
BTW, it looks like the server clock that times these comments has gone to GMT, instead of Moltz-time.
Hah – I noticed that when we were doing the Jan 1st posts, Steve.
I just presumed that the rudely esoteric Anglo-centric postings of myself and Nxxx had confused the server into thinking CARS was based in Blighty.
Has the ‘thunder snow’ stopped over there, by the way? That *rocked*.
Thunder snow!
It even sounds like Odin blowing his nose.
And what about qubits, Del? How big are they? They’ve got me in a right state. Or, indeed, several at once.
BroMu,
I decided to take a few days away from the computer, and then had nothing witty to say. (Like now.)
Thunder snow wasn’t that bad here in Fluffya. Only about a foot. And not much thunder. Mostly melted away now, expect for those large plowed piles in parking lots. After last winter’s 4+ feet in 5 days, things can’t possibly get worse.
Of course, I’ve just doomed us by saying that, but what the heck.
“Things can’t possibly get worse?”
Nigel’s snuffed.
The name Nigel always brings to mind the affectionate poem by John Lennon, which I will post here because I can:
Good Dog Nigel
Arf, Arf, he goes, a merry sight
Our little hairy friend
Arf, Arf, upon the lampost bright
Arfing round the bend.
Nice dog! Goo boy,
Waggie tail and beg,
Clever Nigel, jump for joy
Because we are putting you to sleep at three of the clock, Nigel.
Cheers, Ace. Will it still scan with ‘Jacky’ instead of Nigel and ‘Mum’ instead of ‘Dog’? Only I need some cash for the 20% VAT on Apple stuff over here . . . and she’s got a nice house . . . so I may need a eulogy soon.
Hang on . . . *four feet*!?
That’s pretty impressive, Steve. We had about 18 inches over Christmas and started acting out scenes from Ice Station Zebra.
Parkas Rule.
Bro Ų,
That wasn’t a Russian invasion, just abandoned RyanAir Passengers.
BroMu,
Last February, we had 2 huge storms (2+ feet each) in 5 days. Most snow ever recorded here for the winter. Very unpleasant.
And *still* no Ragnarok (part II).
The Thor movie opens in May (methinks).
Everyone knows that qubits are bite sized. YUM
It looks *hilArious*
What is Anthony Hopkins doing of late, though.
Thor. The Rite.
Hmmm…
On the ‘hilarious’ front, has that ‘Your Highness’ opened yet? Does anyone from our ‘CARS: US Branch’ know?
‘Cos it *looks* funny . . . but then so did ‘Police Academy’ from the trailers. But turned out not to be quite such a hoot when I took half my Bible-study group along to it.
Oooopsy.
And that was before I even had a clear idea about what was going on under that rostrum.
Ahhh, so young and sweet wert I, verrily.
I’m imagining a bible study at the original Police Academy. LOL
My religious grade school we had been reading “Flowers for Algernon” and they thought we’d enjoy the movie. Except there was a sex scene in it. WHOOPSIE
Back of the Net, Del.
Seriously, my experience of Police Academy comprised all my godly ‘chums’ taking it in turn to lean forward in their seats and direct evil glares at me, at approximately 5 minute intervals.
Then again, in retrospect, none of them walked out . . . so maybe they were secretly enjoying it?
Maybe I should suggest a nostalgic ‘Big Night In’ with the entire series?
Genius!
