Thrilling CARS Audio Extravaganza!

Shum Stra iz in our interwebs recordin’ our Help Desks and has the audio of the first question in yesterday’s Help Desk. Why go to all the trouble of reading it when you can just give it a listen (936k MP3)?

Why don’t we do this all the time? Because we hate you. And we suck.

It’s a rather unfortunate combination.

    The other problem is that the police might recognise the ‘heavy breathing’ voice as well as the ‘threatening violence’ and ‘death’ calls.

    And I disagree with Nxxx on this one. CARS needs to move into video podcasts, with comments allowing imbedded images, sounds, and olfactory and kinesthetic touches.

    All you need is bandwidth, banddepth, and bandbreadth. And a server farm.

  15. The audio is very fine, but since we’re talking about a dance, I was hoping for some sort of Labanotation or something.

    On the other hand, I can’t read Labanotation, or, really any kind of dance notation, so don’t go to a lot of trouble on my account.

  16. That would require quite a lot of funding, Ace. There’s very little profit in farming servers, especially trying to compete with today’s industrial agriculture. What happened to good old fashioned server husbandry?

    The costs mount fast: a soundboard, lighting, makeup artists… that’s right: makeup artists. The Entity may have evolved beyond the need for a “meaty sack” body, but that doesn’t mean it takes no pride in its appearance. Quantum makeup’s expensive, even the cheap Revlon stuff.
